How does one catch a hamster?
Just discovered that my sisters hamster has escaped and is living in the spare room in a small gap behind the bookcase, any tips on how to catch him? We have two humane traps but one is too big and one too small!!!! (country wide has no bigger ones) any help thanks x
WE GOT HIM!!!!! we eventually unscrewed the bookcase and then i just grabbed him, he then threw up on me, poor little thing. Hes back in his cage now devouring cucumber!

Try the bucket trap. Take a bucket deep enough that the hamster cannot get out. Put food in it that the hamster can smell-something like his food mixed with peanut butter or peanut butter and fruit. Take books or something similar and stack them up like a ladder leading to the bucket rim. The hamster will go in to get the food and be stuck until you come and get him out.

Your best bet is to leave some food out for little hammy in an open space,eventually he'll come out in search of food,then just plop a box over him so he cant run off again.

ok get a bucket put a pillow at the bottom of the bucket stick her fav treat in the bucket now make stairs to the top of the bucket she will fall in and then she can not get out
