I understand the implication but questions like this one just waste everyone's time

Do you really believe that bush is controlling the world oil market?

Supply and demand good sir thats it that is the only control . We cant substanatively effect demand except though higher prices so all that is left for options is increase supply(at least in the short term)

The best thing would be for gas to hit the market price ASAP. If that means $9 a gallon like it is in Germany, people will turn to mass transit. Drivers who can barely afford to gas their car, are probably uninsured or driving older, higher polluting cars. The roads would be less congested, fewer old cars would be on the road, and struggling mass transit operations in cities all over the country would have the riders they need to justify their existence.

George has no control over it as long as Congress won't let us drill.

So rather than playing "pin the crisis on the president", why don't you take an economics class?

Congress just passed a bill allowing us to drill where there is no oil: 50-100 miles off shore. The oil is 0-50 miles.

(We own the rights to 200 miles. Why not authorize all of it? Why is the democrat Congress playing games?)

How exactly does a President of a capitalist nation go about lowering price?

Do you want him to go to Congress and have them lower the price ceiling?

Thats a bad idea, if theres war profiteering then by all means we should get rid of it. That would I think start with impeachment of a certain Vice President Halilburton.

Wow, the president has about as much control over gas prices as I have over the path of the planets. Get a clue, in economics class.

House passed legislation to allow more coastal drilling earlier this week. Pretty sure it will make it through the Senate and across Bush's desk within the next month. Not sure how much it will help, or in what timeline, but it's something.

He has no control of the gas price what so ever

  • 1 decade ago

Gas was 1.81 when the Palosi congress took control...ask Nancy...since the congress has more control over fuel prices then the Executive branch......

simple...... but I know easier to swallow the moveon.org line

The asking price for saudi oil has dropped so why hasn't bush dropped our prices significantly. Maybe most of the saudi terrorists from 9-11 have him held hostage by financially disabling his decision making process.

Presidents don't have control over gas prices, but I guess if you were educated enough you would know that!
