HELP! major guy problems!!?

ok, i am going to try to tell this story as best i can.

I have this guy friend.

i got his number in feb because i liked him..

(well, that was then because my feelings totally changed)

we have been talking since like, February.

we still talk a lot.

i have told him a zillion times that i JUST want to be friends.

he wants to be more than friends.

he just doesnt get it at all.

he has asked me out like, 7 times.

each time i say "no, i just want to be friends and blah blah"

i went out with him for a few days in the summer, mainly because i just felt bad, but then i broke up with him.

he was TOTALLY crushed.

now he is cool with it and is STILL trying to hook up with me.

we are going to homecoming this year together, but only because i agreed to it before any of this happened :P

he is driving me absolutely insane.

and my best friend doesnt like him and this whole situation is tearing us apart because he is very obsessive and getting very annoying. She thinks i should just tell him straight up to leave me alone, but i cant do that because after all he is my friend and he has feelings too, but he wont process in his head that i dont want to go out with him.

Also, last year some rumors came up about him and this girl, and they werent very good. (but he denies them)

so, what should i say to him?

should i just straight up tell him?

i have also told him a hundred times to just move on and not to wait for me because im not going to ever really be ready to go out with, AND i heard on homecoming during the last dance he is going to try to kiss me and ask me out! ohhhh nooooo. and he also said that if i say no, that he is going to accuse me of playing him!

Techinically i did NOT play him because i have told him to move on several times. and that i dont want to go out with him.

I want your honest opinion on what to do if you were in this situation.
