I'm 'dieting'. What do you think of my diet?

I'm not morbidly obese, but i'm not thin. I'm 5'5" 140/145 lb. I want to get down to 130 by the end of this school year (June)

I take a multivitamen everyday when i wake up in the morning. I also take lipovox, a diet pill- doens't seem to work that well after a while (at first i lost nearly 6 pounds in 2 weeks- then i gained it all back the next two weeks) I don't exercise that much, maybe once or twice a week i'll do 2 miles on the tredmill. I walk atleast a mile everyday home from school though. I don't eat lunch because it's at 10:30 for me, i get out at 3pm walk home and usually eat at 5. I'll usually eat stuff like some wheat bread and peanut butter. misc. stuff like canned kidney beans too. i probably consume only 1000 calories a day. Should i have a steadier diet? i never have a meal set up for me when i get home, my mom never cooks. i could try eating on a schedule but i doubt that would work.

Your diet plan is terrible, you're going to end up gaining weight, not losing it.

You shouldn't be taking diet pills, and you're starving yourself. You're basically fasting until 5 in the afternoon? Very bad idea. You'll lose weight at first, but then you'll put it all back on, plus more because this is basically a starvation diet, and you can't do this for the rest of your life. You already know this, because you say you already lost and gained back 6 lbs.

Besides, for your height, your weight right now might be just fine, depending on your muscle mass, hydration level, bone density, and frame (skeletal) size. You can't go by weight alone.

You should get your body fat % tested, and go from there. A healthy range for an adult woman is 15% - 25%. Get it tested at a health clinic or hospital, for accuracy.

You should be eating healthy, balanced meals, including at every meal: vegetables, whole grains, lean meat and dairy, and fruit. (You can skip the veggie at breakfast.) Snack on vegetables first, then add in other healthy foods if you're still hungry. Never eat sweets or fruit on an empty stomach. Drink at least 8 8-oz glasses of pure water every day. Don't count calories, just eat if you're hungry and stop when you're satisfied.

I know this sounds crazy, since we've all been told the only way to lose weight is to eat less. But, if you give your body plenty of healthy calories, it will let go of the extra body fat, and you will be the right size, shape, and weight for you. Low calorie or fad dieting slows down your metabolism because your body thinks you're starving and will store every calorie you eat as fat. This is how humans have survived all these thousands of years, but you can't really explain to your metabolism that McDonald's is just down the street. You have to work with your metabolism, not against it, if you want to be slim and healthy for life.

Exercise at least 20 minutes every other day, gently, like walking or even marching in place while watching tv and move your arms around. If you do decide that you'd like to lose a little body fat, you can exercise 60 minutes every day, taking off one day a week to let your body rest. Again, it should be gentle exercise.

This is something you can do every day of your life, and you can do it while pregnant or nursing, too. Don't ruin your body with yo-yo dieting. You'll end up fatter in the long run, and you'll hate yourself even more.

Hi, diets won't work just eat 6 meals a day (3 regular and 3 snacks) to lose weight you need to enhance your metabolism which is done by eating and providing it with fuel. Starving your body by not eating regularly just leads you to gain fat and lose muscle and thus decrease your metabolism. Always make sure to eat breakfast and I think you should prepare meals and snacks the night before, like make a salad pop it in a container and take it to school along with a few fruits, some nuts etc and a sandwich. When you get home try and make a healthy fruit and low fat shake and eat some rice crackers and raw fruit and veges etc. Lean meats with veges for dinner (tuna, skinless chicken, turkey etc). Drink loads of water also. If you do this and keep up your exercise you should notice great changes in your body. Good luck hope this helps.

because you weigh 140-145, you should be consuming at least 1400 calories a day to lose 2 lbs a week. i used to work at a gym and i learned that. when you exercise, you need to add the cals you burn to 1400. (example: burn 300 calories exercising, you should eat 1700 calories that day).you will still lose weight this way. you arent eating enough and your body is going to get used to only burning 1000 calories each day and then your metabolism will slow. when i started eating 200 or 300 calorie meals all throughout the day to equal 1400 calories a day, i lost 15 lbs in 3 months. i ran 2-3 miles everyday, but walking for an hour will do the same for you. toning helps too. remember to keep eating small meals so that your metabolism stays up. if your hungry, EAT...just calculate your caloies and get plenty of water :) hope this helps!... and remember to not give up, which is the hardest part. try egg sandwhiches (whole wheat bread) reduced fat snacks, protien bars, etc.) protien helps you gain lean muscle.

ps- diet pills dont work, they just mess up your stomach and screw up your metabolism.
