Grab some copies of Fine Gardening from your library and take a look. There are some really cool things you can do with a space that size.

I'd like to put a meandering foot path that looks like a river through my space like that, and plant it with stuff that hangs over a little bit and smells nice. Hyacinth, lemon thyme, Casablanca lilies, chrysanthemums -- that sort of thing.

You could also put in a very small, one-lap swimming pool, or some sort of real water feature.

A fence might give you an extra dimension to work with -- maybe put a mural on the fence, or use it for handball, etc.

Planting bamboo would make a great sight screen to the neighbors behind you.

Make a wave pattern (~) and plant a few minature trees or a flower or veggie garden, sounds like perfect spot.

    Good Luck!

    1. How about a garden.

    2. It would make a great dog run.

    3. Dwarf fruit trees would fit perfect.

If it isn't heavily shaded, you could grow vegetables there in long, closely-spaced rows. Or you could plant a row of berry bushes.

BTW - Bond...James Bond stole my first answer!
