There are musts in Cairo:

- The Egyptian museum in Cairo. Opening hours are 9-6, but during the month of Ramadan it is 9-4.

- The pyramids of Giza. Opening hours from 8-4, but in Ramadan 8-3.

- The citadel, opening hours 8,30-4, but in Ramadan 9-4.

There are musts in the evening:

The sound and light show at the pyramids and Sphinx, it is a 60 minutes show it is run every day after dark. Each hour it is done in another language. Check at the hotel about the English language timing.

A Nile cruise for 2 hours with music, show and dinner, check at your hotel for the boat nearest you.

2 days is too little, so we must be focused.

Pyramids is in the dessert , it is going to be very hot there , so you whether do that very early in the morning i.e. 07:30 am or you do not at all and believe me they are more enjoyable on TV. :)

You can take a tour in the Nile in evening time, your hotel can help you arranging for this , they do that all the time.

You can go Khan El Khalili street , where you will be walking in a typical streets and buildings of 200 years ago, they call it old Cairo or Islamic Cairo , it has very special taste and you can get many memorials from there.

Go to City Stars mall for modern Cairo, an amazing shopping mall in Heliopolis area, my friend who went to Switzerland last year says this is a typical one to the Switzerland City Satrs mall.

Do not miss , Azhar Park, Egyptian Museum and Saladin Citadel, beautiful and histotical.

Well! ..Two days are kinda too small for Cairo! :D ..

But let's say The Pyramids I know it's at Giza but it ain't that far..You can go early at the morning!

Khan El Khalili at Old Cairo! .. This street will take you to Luxor and Aswan while you're in Cairo! ..Plus the Egyptian Museum!

I think those are the main things for Cairo! ..For sure there are alot of places but as you say you got only 2 days! ..
