Suggestions for granite color?
Am looking for suggestions for granite color for our kitchen. Cabinets are medium - dark brown cherry with warm gold undertones (not red or orange-y). Leaning toward golden oak floor as it pulls out the warmth of the cabinets and provides a lovely contrast. Purchased a new stainless steel fridge and will eventually replace the other appliances with SS down the road. As much as I love color, I suspect I'll tire of green/gold in a few years. So... I am looking for a light neutral granite suggestions.. white or cream, maybe light gray. I'm going for a classic/timeless look that I can update with paint color.
Looking forward to your suggestions.. Thanks all :)

you should try Giallo Ornamental, or Giallo Venenziano They are still neutral enough but have a little bit of the gold and brown to bring out the cabinets.

While I would suggest a black counter top for your kitchen, there are some really beautiful creamy granites out there that I like. I wouldn't go with white, it might pull too much attention away from the cabinets (which sound really nice from your description). The only problem that I've found with creamy or light colored granite is that the design tends to be really busy. However, that could be just where I am and what granites are available here. Good luck.

I do restoration work for a living, and we have a homeowner that has almost the same colors as you do in the kitchen we are doing.
Go to www.supremesurface.com and look at the different granite samples they have. We refer a lot of our homeowners to that site just to give them an idea. From there, I would check out your local granite dealers and get some samples.
With this website, it will give you some ideas of what is out there, and just how wide the choices are.

I have a green on my wall and I am simply mad about it and I will never grow tiried of this I have matched it with dark brown furniture and a dark brown desk top. If you want to go neutral white and and cream are both interesting and beautiful. I would go for a deep cream though, because of the cherry and gold undertones.
