Does 'Gayatri Mantra' signify uniformity ?

'Tat Savitur' Enlightenment like the Sunshine is uniformly alike for all.

Update:

This was exclusive property of 'Brahmins' !

The depth of its words were lost in its literary emotions. Now its known to all, so will the High & Low of cast systems loose its existence ?

Update 2:

Mantra was developed as Prayer for the social humans to feed the Emotions. Mantra was in the form of phonetic sounds heard by Yogis, Hermits, Saints when in a Trance. Saints came in contact with the society after selfishly developing their will power to instill Service quality in themselves to achiev Moksha/Nirvana. It was then that Mantra helped to bridge the social gap. Saints were then termed as Selfless.

Update 3:

Dear nila: Dividing the social structure on work basis is for efficient functioning. This still exist in our workplace, but no Work is less important. Work is worship. Every trade turned ugly due to selfishness and Ego. Even the Teacher community 'Brahmin' became hereditary profession as the Guru taught his child most of the secrets of the trade.

This has lost the depth of the meaning of 'Gayatri Mantra'.

Update 4:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vishwamitra

Hate, Jealousy, leg pulling is a cruel action to eliminate innovative ideas. Vishwamitra was not appreciated for the discovery of 'Gayatri Mantra'.

Gayatri mantra symbolises omnipresence of the singular entity - God.

Gayatri mantra is an incantation for invocation of the supreme god. Literally if u look at the meaning it will be addressed to Sun of all suns (not the sun of our solar system) - substitute for God (singular supreme being) which brings light to the entire shristri (earth) and universe in toto , may we attain the radiance and lustre of that supreme being through our prayers.

So it is addressed to no god in particular. Only in the ancient times Sanskrit was known only to the well educated people (mostly Brahmins). The lower caste which was usually uneducated was not able to grasp the meaning of the words and read them.....I dont think it was restricted to who should utter the mantra when it was coined. But the powers that were present in the ancient times (right from the aryans and controller of vedas) made it practically impossible for the common people to learn and practice it.

You ar right in saying that education has broken that wall....everybody can practice it now, unless the fact that people still discriminate between lower and upper caste based on what caste they were born into and not by what they have done in their lives.

Gayathri mantra has its own power. It knows where and when to reach the people.Gayathri stays with the people who has proper good habits and only they can get the benefits of Gayathri Mantra.Earlier brahmins follow the niyamas properly.Nowadays anyone who follows the proper niyamas and wants to reach higher consciousness can get the benefit of Gayathri mantra. This is not a cast basis mantra.

Gayathri mantra is unique and powerful than any other mantra.
