Would it be awkward for me to attend a religious university?

I am a Christian, but in the past few years have not been very religous( attending church and youth groups). I am strongly interested in Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. I love everything abou the school, but am afraid I won't fit in because I am not as religous as others. Please offer opinions.

I did the same thing out of high school and went to a religious university . It was not at all awkward for me , the students were all just like me , some knowing more about the bible and their religious beliefs than I did , but it certainly did not do me any harm to learn with and from them . In fact it was downright helpful . Go ahead , I believe you will really enjoy the experience .

I went to Fordham as a non-Catholic. Although the majority of students on campus were Catholic, I didn't feel odd or left out because I was not. In fact, it was kind of cool to be at a college where God was actually normal to talk about, and the concept of religion could be discussed both academically and personally. I also feel it gave the school a firm foothold in ethics and morality, which was one of the things I'd liked about the place.

You'll need to visit Point Loma to see if it is a good fit for you, but you can see from my story that, depending on the school, just because you're less religious than other students, that doesn't mean you'll be left out or that you won't fit. You have to judge it based on the school itself, so visit and see how you feel. And ask *them* this question as well. I bet they have students of a variety of levels of religious committment on campus.

It wouldn't be weird. Many people prefer religous universities, although just because a person prefer a school that isn't religous doesnt mean they are not religous... So it shouldn't be awkward unless you make yourself feel awkward.
