I know everyones on the Tim Linecum Bandwagon right now, but Clayton Kershaw is a beast!

Kershaw is only 20 years old Btw and he has nasty stuff on the mound. Right now Lincecum is obviously better, but I believe Kershaw has more potential. After all, Kershaw was named the Highschool Player of the Year in Texas.

  • Kershaw because hes only 20, a lefty and has that devastating curveball named public enemy number 1 by Vin Scully

while Tim Lincecum is having a dominating year you have to remember hes older than kershaw and has had more time playing with the big club but by next year i see Kershaw making a big splash in the NL that would rival what Lincecum is doing this year

Lincecum is an ace now and one of the best pitchers in baseball. Kershaw has a huge upside potential and is a star in the making with one of the best curveballs in the game. He is still very young and I expect to see him equal to Lincecum in a few years. Huge advantage to Lincecum today and I expect to see Kershaw put up equal numbers in a few years.

This question might be impossible to answer because both players have practically limitless ceilings. Lincecum is already showing his potential with this Cy Young caliber season. Kershaw has yet to really step up consistently, but has shown flashes of greatness this year. Scouts call his curve a true 80+, a rating reserved for only the absolute best pitches any pitcher can have. And both guys are young enough that I don't think you can discount either of their potentials.

Honestly, I think both of them have the makings of Hall of Famers. I know that's silly to say so early in their careers, but if they both achieve their potential, they should both be in the Hall.

Good question but it's a tough answer. As great as Lincecum have been, he still have to prove himself next year. Look at Jeff Francois of the Colorado Rockies. Last year he was terrific but this year he's not doing too good.

Keep in mind that Kershaw wasn't to supposed to get this much starting pitching. In a way, he's more inexperienced than Linececum and started late in the season but he is improving at a rapid maturity level. Watch out for him next year when he's adjust at the beginning of the season.

I see both of them having a great future ahead of themselves.

    I like Tim Lincecum.

He's got great stuff, good heat, a nasty curve, and he's added a change up this season. He's looking to add a slider to the mix next season. He's going to strikeout alot of batters each season, his unorthodox mechanics, have raised concerns amongst a few "experts" but that's plus in my eyes.

Kershaw is still very young, and learning the ropes. He plays on a better team, and will have more opportunities to pick up the highly overrated wins. He's got good make up, and an equally impressive set of pitches. A curveball that has been deemed, " Public Enemy Number One". He's a good pitcher and one to keep an eye on, but Tim Lincecum will be the better pitcher when all is said and done.

What kind of question is this! Lincecum is going to win the CY Award and is only in his first year on a bad team. How much more does he have to prove. I would take lincecum over any other pitcher.
