Actually, I am a Conservative, so I vote Republican more often than not, because they represent my views. BUT if a Democratic candidate reflected Conservative views better, I wouldn't hesitate to vote for him or her.

I've been on both sides of the fence so I am going to give you two perspectives. As a former leader of Young Republicans, and having supported many Republican candidates as an adult, I have watched the Republican Party morph over the past 10 years from a party of limited government to a party of limiting personal freedom. The GOP has become more concerned about same sex partners sharing benefits than they are if "normal" American families can even afford benefits. I can no longer support a party that claims the moral high road but plays dirty and convinces us that issues such as those are the top issues of the day.
I don't know that I can officially call myself a Democrat yet, but I certainly like their party's candidates more these days. The Democrats at least try to stay on issue (until Rove and the GOP force the election down in the dirt and both parties are slinging mud b/c that's what we the voters seem to demand and respond to). Democrats have realized trickle down economics doesn't work, that some government regulation is necessary in the market; and that instead of worrying if Bob and Steve should have the same rights as Bob and Mary, that is more important that we ALL have the same opportunity and work together to make this country great again.
It's time America became the example we once were to the rest of the world and to ourselves. Everyone is watching, what will we do?

Because I believe this is a great country and I want us all to succeed. To reawaken the American Dream that the republicans want to ensure are denied, with republican backed bigger government given more powers for intrusion in our rights of privacy.
That anyone of any class can have a better life and the freedoms to prosper no matter their color of skin or religion. That we are all of one mind of one heart for the betterment of ourselves the country and the world.
That is why I am a member of the Democratic Party.

I'm neither.
Both are senseless labels that cause nothing but friction and division.
I vote for the best person for the job........
the person I'd like to SEE at least TRY to fulfill some of his campaign promises.
McCain has promised to keep us in Iraq for 100 years if need be.
Obama has promised to get us out.
I'll go with the guy that is looking for a solution.........not the guy that envisions another 100 years of this farce.

I am a Dem because I believe greed is a weakness and compassion a virtue. If I believed the opposite I would be a Republican.

In the primaries, I'm democrat, in the general election, either one I want to be. I am not a 'lover of the party'. Hope that helps on your paper.

I am a democrat, a person who upholds the essence of democracy. Democracy is a Latin doctrine, “Voxs popoli voxs Dei” which means, the voice of the people is the voice of God. Goverment can not exist without democracy in action.

Democrats are inclusive, progressive, compassionate, believes that the underdog should win sometimes and that Hard work should be rewarded.
Republicans are judge mental, self righteous, hypocritical, non inclusive and mean.

I'm an independent AMERICAN. I do my own research, form my own opinions and decide for myself what I believe. I don't need a political party to do that for me.

I will never vote Republican because of their pandering to the extreme religious right.
Until they drop that out of their campaign, I will always vote for someone else.
I was kinda sad about Palin. McCain was a good moderate and I thougt maybe I could vote for such a person.....but then he started pandering yet again to the Christian right with Palin.
