If you do not believe in God (anyones God)?

Why do you care if they do?

I see it kind of like this.

I believe in Santa Clause. Does my belief in Santa harm you? No you just think I am nuts cause I am not a child anymore.

So if I believe in Jesus how is that harming you? Some say because I am affecting the laws? Can you give me an example?

Others say because I say immorality is wrong, can you give me an example when it is right?

Some of you say Christianity is the biggest threat to the world, please explain how? Give facts not accusations. The action and the harm that followed the action of Christians.

I don't hate you because you don't believe in a God, nor do I hate you because I do believe in God.

Think about your answers, your feelings, your fears and explain why you are afraid of Christians. I am not talking about those that claim christianity and then fail to live or behave as a christian.

True Christianity is love, moral, family oriented, love of country, hard working, kindness, generous, helpfulness.

But remember that I have a right to think and believe how I choose just as you do as long as my choices do not harm you. So please explain how my love of Jesus harms you.

Update:

Sure disagree all you want. I am only responding to other posts that were saying that Christianity was the cause of all the problems in the world.

Update 2:

Okay, so if I am understanding you correctly, if a christian is against homosexuality they are harming you. I assume that means you have chosen a gay lifestyle and you are angered when someone says that it is immoral. So what gives you the right to say Christianity is wrong anymore than a Christian has the right to say homosexuality is wrong?

Everyone has a right to their opinion and belief. They are like assholes everyone has them. Some just choose to show theirs and think theirs are better than yours.

I have no issue with what you believe, what ever spiritual path anyone chooses is entirely up to them. The people I have a problem with are the ones that try to force their beliefs on me; unless I specifically ask what you believe, I don't want to hear about it. I also don't want to be told I am going to hell, I'm not as far as I am concerned there is no heaven or hell.

If all of Christianity truly were, as you say, love, moral, family oriented, love of country, hard working, kindness, generous and helpfulness, then there truly would be fewer problems in this world of ours. Unfortunately, religion just isn't that pure.

I also don't have a problem with someone believing in God, Jesus, the bible. That belief doesn't hurt me and if it makes my neighbor kinder actually benefits my neighborhood.

What I do have problems with is when Christianity, or any part thereof, decides that their way of life should be mine too. These can and do include, but are not limited to abortion, religion in politics, abstinence only sex education, moral superiority when it gets in the way of common sense, gay anything, and the my way or the highway attitude of many - not all - theists.

As far as instances where Christianity has harmed people, all you have to do is pick up your Bible and read it. It's full of examples where one people are exterminating another, where children and women are being raped and killed, where crops and villages are being raided and razed, the earth salted after. Someone is the victim here and to those people, Christianity is the enemy. This, in my opinion is not love, this is moral superiority at its best.

I'm not going to sway you from your beliefs and I am not trying to. I don't see Christians as my enemy, but I am not a theist.

"Some say because I am affecting the laws? Can you give me an example?"

    California's Proposition 8. Arizona's Proposition 102. Florida's Amendment 2. Etc, etc, etc.

"Others say because I say immorality is wrong, can you give me an example when it is right?"

Whose definition of immorality? Yours? Your gods? Why do you get to impose your definition of immorality on everybody else? Frankly I consider much of what Christians stand for, say and do immoral but you don't see me trying to outlaw it.

"So please explain how my love of Jesus harms you. "

Constitutional bans against same-sex marriage in 26 states. Bans against gay adoption in Utah. No job protections for LGBT people in about half the states in the nation. No hate-crime protections for LGBT people in more than half the states in the nation. LGBT people can't serve openly in the military. Atheists can't get elected to political office unless they hide what they are. Etc, etc, etc.

  • Actually, Jesus was a real person. I know that. But heck, maybe he was just crazy. I see no god, i hear no god, i feel no god. How can i know it exists?

I am not afraid of Christians, i respect them. I do think, however, that if religion has torn the world apart before (religious wars, stuff like that), who's to say it won't happen again?

I don't believe in god, or "creatonism," i trust in my logic and my science.

"Others say because I say immorality is wrong, can you give me an example when it is right?"

The fact that you people lie like that over and over again is definitely harming us.

Do you REALLY think that a society that doesn't distinguish between truth and falsehood can function properly? I don't.

Was it Christian love when the Spanish mercifully baptized the native infants prior to dashing their skulls on stone walls and smashed and burned their sacred temples? I could go on and on but what you believe does matter because it gives you license to commit grave atrocities against your fellow humans.

Your Santa belief doesn't harm anyone, are you going to bury people under presents? Radical religion tends to destroy people in it's path, you check that historically.

Whoever said it was harming me? You seem to be the one with the persecution complex. I can disagree with it if I want, can't I?
