Hope and Change is the most overused phrase in this election.

Source(s): My experience. Over 40 years of Democratic Party Politics. Hillary Clinton in 2012 John McCain in 2008 P.U.M.A.

When McCain says he will "bring change to Washington".

He has worked in Washington for almost three decades. What has he done as far as bringing change to Washington? People working on his political campaign were long time lobbyists. People he deals with in Washington are all old timers. Who is he going to change? Did he not accept campaign contributions from lobbyists this time around? Is he not going to do them favors?

Change. Every election is always about change. If Obama is elected, when he runs for re-election, I guarantee his opponent will run against him under the guise of "change".

His opponent would criticize Obama and ask if the country wants 4 more years of Washington, then tell America it's time for change.

Anyone whose been through enough of these knows that's the cycle of it. They all promise change.

    It's empty, meaningless, cliche.

"Flip-flopping" It was an overused phrase from the last election. Nobody gives accusations of "flip-flopping" any credit anymore, yet people still like to throw the term around this year.
