Are the "Good Old Days" gone, or will we see prosperity again in full bloom- perhaps with the next president?

Yes, the "good old days" will come back, let's not delete it, from our memories, learn to live with today, I know it's difficult.
But we can sing for ourselves the songs of 60's and 70's.
Every one has his own image of the past, lets be thankful to-day that we are alive and full of blessings.

The Good Old Days are not gone, we will rebound. This country has been through hard times before and have come back. It will take time but I don't see it happening over night or even in the next year. A new President will not make a difference at this time.

Change,Change,Change, big positive words that woo the voters!! But how will it change? The good old days are gone for now but with a positive, experienced president, the tide will turn and the golden days will return. This is why it is imperative that McCain gets the vote. He is prudent, experienced and can handle a situation. the glory days will return but we need a commander in chief that is competent to get us through!

Free health care, free college for everyone and a new car for everyone. The debt is ruining this nation and neither candidate has the courage to do what is needed and that is cut spending in every area and add no new programs until the debt is gone.

Finances run in cycles. Problems will be addressed and the markets will correct themselves. The process could be slowed and the problems continue to get worse if we are cursed with an Obama presidency, but that would only be for 4 years...

We are in SERIOUS SERIOUS trouble.
The debt at this point is utterly insane. The next president is not going to be popular if he even begins working on the problem correctly. (Which if you take the candidates at their word, it's not going to happen since both are being dodgy.)
The President & Congress know this. If you read the news blurbs it even says the $700b+ package is sealed by court order. They know it's rock bottom. Having that sealed is absolutely criminal and an admission of not wanting the public to really know what's up.
It's not Republican or Democrat, because the situation is a form of financial MADD: everyone's on the run. (Although we would've been much, much better prepared to deal with this without a war hanging on our heads.)

I don't know. The good old days were never really good old days for long. I think as long as we have this yo yo effect with God the good old days will never come. Not until all decide of their own free will to follow Christ, then will the good old days come, but unfortunately that will probably never happen until after the riegn of anti-christ when Christ has to stop us from obliterating ourselves and the establishes His riegn for a millenia.
