You have listed a "light" gaming requirement. If you have any 2008 main line games in mind then you will need a laptop with a NVidia 8800M GTX or greater.

Sims 2 will run good enough on any laptop with a dedicated graphics chip such as ATI 3450 or greater or NVidia 8400 or greater.

Run away screaming from anything with Intel 3100 integrated chipset graphics or ATI 1250 shared memory graphics or anything that says "shared memory" on the video description

The cost of starter level dedicated graphics chip will only be about $100 to $150 extra. It is a real cost that the laptop manufacturer has to pay to NVidia or ATI so they try to push the really bad integrated chipset graphics down your throat... Pay the extra, it's worth it.

For the other specs, as long as your gaming doesn't exceed Sims 2, any dual core CPU will do, and 2 gigs of RAM will be the sweet spot althought it will only be $50 extra to get to 4 gigs

Hi Ho is giving you decent advice on the HP's

Also the Dell Studio 15 has a ATI 3450 option and the Dell Studio has an ATI 3650 option which is a bit more powerful than the NVidia 8600

For that extra gaming vibe, the Dell Studios come with all sorts of case design options and a $30 backlit keyboard option that glows blue...

can you give up specific hardware details please?

anyways, your looking for an nvidia geforce 8400gt go card, at least 3gb of ram, at least a 2.3ghz or faster intel penryn processor the (t8000 and t9000 series cpus), possibly draft-n wifi, and bluetooth (for the gadgets).

and possibly vista ultimate or home premium

and a 250gb hard drive, AT LEAST(go for a 7200 rpm drive if you can afford it), and a hi-def display

EDIT> i checked it out, this aint it for you

goto hp.com and customise with the specs i gave you above ^^^

ok? good. glad i could help

EDIT> sorry, the only way you can get these specs is if you get the dv5t pc, which is probably gonna cost you at least $1200. minimun.

hey, you gotta pay for power

FYI, youll get a better video card (the newer chipsets ad standard dedicated gpus form the 9- series, specifically the 9200gm, and the 9600 gpu's), and blu-ray if you want it

devtec's giving you god reccomendations for the hardware
