Why do my Chinese and Japanese friends eat white rice and they don't seem to ever get fat?

My Chinese and Japanese friends eat tons of white rice and they don't ever exercise but they are still slim. A lot of them still have great grandparents in their 90s. I wonder why white rice don't affect them that much?

Lol,Because it's WHITE rice.White rice isn't as fattening as fried rice,or sticky rice;and maybe because rice isn't all they eat.Rice is one of the food groups(grain),and asian people incorporate rice(grain),pork(meat),and various of other veggies,so what i'm saying is it's because they are eating a balanced meal.

They eat rice with vegetables, noodles, fish & many seafoods which are non fattening foods & little very little meats. Either its grilled, steamed, souped & are non & low fat content. I was raised eating alot of rice at every meal rice with everything. I couldn't gain any weight its the way its prepared & what they eat it with is actually low in fat.

If you combine high fat foods with rice then you gain. Moderation is the key if you do.

Even though most rice looks white they are not all the same.

If girls want to lose weight, they will choose not to eat any rice. They will only eat vegetables, meats and so on.

If cooked in a right way ,not using oils or a lot of spices, the food can be digested easily by the stomach.

So it is not only in case of white rice it is the case of every food.

Few things. I'm Filipino I eat a lot of rice. Well not anymore since I moved out of my parents house but... key things here.

    *Metabolism

*Keep in mind that their ancestors have developed a digestive system where rice is good for them and won't cause harm.

    *They probably burn it off.

*Asians have different body types like any other race.

specific, nutrients are continually linked with white rice in Japan and China. so as that they do consume rice basically approximately well-known, a minimum of as quickly as an afternoon. in the international places that consume rice many times (maximum international places east from India), someway white rice grew to alter into the main more suitable grain of their way of existence long term in the past. And nonetheless save on. It began to alter by way of fact of nutritious values yet very slowly, in comparison to in U.S..

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

White rice isn't bad for you or fattening, not nearly as fattening as bread or fast food... and not all but many asian families cook fresh steamed veggies and have healthy eating lifestyles. They make their own food much differently than it is prepared at a takeout place.

The fact that they eat rice isn't the salient fact. It is that their diet in general is high in grains and vegetables and low in saturated fats and deep-fried foods.
