I have a serious problem. whenever i get really depressed i start eating....alot, how can i help this?

because when i say "eating sweets" i mean i eat until i can barely walk. like last night i had a really bad breakdown and i got really upset...and i ate basically 3/4 of a pineapple upside down cake. then i didnt stop there i went and got some peanut butter and jelly, i ate that from the jars by the spoonfull. then i even ate a piece of pizza after that. oh and i also had two of these little lemon shortbread cookies.

now tell me thats not unhealthy to say the least.

idk what happens to me but its like somthing just clicks in my head telling me to eat until im oversatisfied.

i need to find a way to stop it....but idk how.

please help me. someone.

Update:

if you really wanna know how much i weigh. im underweight im 5'11 17 years old and 116 pounds.

the doctors told me i actually need to be putting on weight.

but i go through periods of eating nothing for long periods of time. to eating tons at a time so it all really balances out and i dont gain to much. except here recently ive just been eating more and more and ive actually gained about 8 pounds in three weeks.

    Maybe some therapy can help you? In the mean time when you start feeling that way call someone and start talking on the phone-- or get out of the house and visit some one. You won't want to binge eat if you're with another person and they will help you feel better.

    Also don't keep junk food and sweets in your house. Just don't even buy them. When you buy them, that's where it starts.

    Good luck and please reach out to other for help. Lots of people have this problem and being alone is no fun.

    O my you really do need to stop! thats not healthy..i mean what is making you upset?!?....i wish i could help you but its really a mind thing!....you need to tell youself that your not hungry or get your mind off it or find something to do to realise the anger!

    and sorry but how much do you weigh!!?! geez thats alot of calories!
