Sleep and spitting up?

I have 6week old twins and just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem - Yes I am talking to my DR. about it - but just wanted others experience.

My daughters are spitting up during their sleep - I put them down to sleep/nap and almost every time when I go back to wake/feed again they each have a little wet spot by their heads (sometimes alot, sometimes a little) They are gaining weight.

Anyone else experience this - what did you do? What did your pedi say?

Usually this means that they have gas in their belly before going to bed. Be sure that you get a good burp out of them after feeding before laying them down to sleep.

One option if your baby has reflux is to slightly elevate her when she is sleeping. There are pads designed for this purpose. Just be sure she can't roll onto her belly, as this increases the risk of SIDS.

My daughter did this but it was a very very large amount at a time and the dr said it was reflux. She recommended that I keep her upright for about half an hour after feeding and it got so bad that at one point she had to sleep in her infant carrier so she was slightly upright. After that and formula change she is better. Again my daughter was spitting up quite a lot, so I dont know if its the same.

I am almost certain that it sound like acid reflux. I also have twins :)...but the doc almost always prescribes a liquid antacid for them and it usually always helps. Another thing that they may do is have you babies drink this funky liquid and then they watch it through an xray or something of the sort. The liquid is almost neon in the xray and they can see if it is rising up through the esophagus.

i could think of its widely used, I felt the right comparable way! My son could spit up continuously (hes 3mos now and doens't as much as he did while he grow to be a new child). i could be paranoid continuously, in spite of if i found that as quickly as he does spit up and hes mendacity on his returned is greater projectile like so he without delay turns his head to the realm. some cases he began to choke somewhat, yet like adults, while toddler starts to choke, they cough, an you may hear them....Its a very widely used worry, purely be sure you burp her before you lay her down. you will possibly be able to additionally purchase a crib wedge (it is going decrease than the sheet ) and places toddler on a mushy incline.

Could it possibly just be drooling? My daughter tends to drool a bit while she is sleeping. She is 10 weeks old and has been doing it since she was about 4 weeks. I think that as long as it is clear (no milk coming up, etc.) then its probably ok.

sounds a little like reflux. my son had it HORRIBLY until he was 7 months. he had to sleep in his car seat and was on meds. he was gaining weight and everything, but was just very uncomfortable all of the time. i would suggest having them sleep on an incline. you can find wedges that sit on the crib mattresses, but you can also have them in car seats or swings. the elevation of their heads should improve the spitting up.

You need to burp them longer. Just like us they burp but need help with it. They might have more then one burp in them. Pat them on the back a little longer just to make sure.

i've dealt with that with both my son and daughter... my son had silent reflux, and my daughter's just very prone to spitting up. for both cases i placed them on their side or tummy to sleep so that they wouldn't choke on it while sleeping. our doctor said there is nothing wrong with it and some babies are just more prone to spitting up.

maybe you are laying them down too soon after feeding
