Laminate flooring question?
Hey folks -
We are thinking of putting laminate in our living room and 1 bedroom (about 700 sq ft. for both)
We have looked at home depot/lowes/ikea etc... we know that we want to get it installed (we are not do-it-yourselfers...more power to those of you who are!)
Does anyone have an idea of the cost we would be looking at? Also, are there other places/companies that we should look at (perhaps somewhere online that we don't know about or some whole sale companies.)
Any input would be appreciated:)
Thank you
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoParking for concert at Cowboys - SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!?
Hey folks! I need your help. My hubby and I are attending a concert at Cowboy stadium in Arlington next month, and I would love some suggestions on the best way to park for the concert. I know for the American Airline center - we have eaten at a restaurant and taken a shuttle from that particular restaurant or walked from that location. Anyone have an experience like that at the new stadium or even for a Ranger game, as the stadium is so close to it.
Any ideas would be really helpful!
Thanks
2 AnswersDallas1 decade agoHow to cut out that evening bottle?? Ideas?
Okay mommies (and dads too!)
I have 11 mo. twins and we have been on sippy cups since 6 mo - so no problems with using a sippy. We use the sippy with each meal (3 a day) and at snack time (late morning and mid afternoon.) But I still give them a bottle right before they go to bed (about 6 oz.) I am wondering when to stop this bottle - I mean completely, and not replace it with a sippy? Did any of you do this, or did you replace the bottle with a sippy - if so how long until you cut out the "night time snack" completely? If I stop the bottle, will they start waking in the night? Anyone have experience/suggestions?
I know it's lots of questions - hope to get some great ideas:) Thank you.
2 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoIs Galveston Open for Business?
My hubby and I are thinking of a 2 night get away and thought Galveston might be good. But, I can't find a lot about if things are open or closed after the hurricane. Have they reopened everything? Is it appealing for vacationers? What about Schlitterbahn, the strand, ? OR is it just a bunch of closed shops and debris still?
Anyone got any info - I'd appreciate it:)
5 AnswersHouston1 decade agoSwitching formulas? ?
Hello moms and dads:)
Just a question if any one has tried this...
My babies have been on Alimentum and/or Nutramigen (the hypoallergenic formulas) due to a milk protein allergy. The Dr. today told us to try NEstle Good start with comfort proteins now and see if they are over the allergy. YEs - I am going to follow the Dr. orders and try it (I do know that he is an educated Dr and knows more than me:)
But, I just wanted to know if anyone had experience with this - has anyone switched from the hypoalergenics to nestle? If so, what was your experience?
My girls are 4 months old - and started on the nutramigen/allimentum when they were 6 weeks.
Any insight would be great:)
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoSomething to share with new moms - rice cereal...?
Hello Ladies (and dads!)
I just wanted to share something that I found out - I wish I had known sooner!
My twin girls have bad reflux and ONLY under the Dr.s supervision we added rice cereal. Well they also have a milk protein allergy ( I know - talk about CRAZY times around my house!)
We were put on the "designer" formula Alimentum/Nutramigen and they did great - it totally did the trick for the allergy - I got my happy babies back!
We then added the Gerber rice cereal and they began to act crazy at feeding time again - blood in their stools again - acting SO hungry, but hating to eat and hurt little bellies. I cut out the rice, and we were back to the bad reflux again. Will the viscous cycle ever end?!?
Next Dr.'s appt I told her all about it and came to discover....Gerber rice cereal has MILK PROTEINS in it!!!!!! oh the 2 weeks of horror in my house could have been avoided had I known this.
So the fix for us to not spit up and reflux...Beechnut cereal. It contains no soy or milk proteins.
Sorry for the long story - but I just had to share this, just in case anyone else has been going through the same thing. We have been great for 2 months now and our feeding issues are worked out! YEAH:)
Please let me know if you have had a similar experience (but please don't comment on feeding cereal before they are ready - I know that 4 to 6 months is the best to start solids - so I ONLY did it under a Dr's supervision.)

What is "Gloria Tibi Domine" from latin to English. It's a traditional latin text...
The start goes
Domine deus filius patris dona nobis pacem, gloria tibi domine.
It's a latin song text that I need to understand in english:)
6 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoMoms of singletons and twins:)?
When did you first venture out with the baby/babies after they were born. Visits to the dr. don't count!
I had twins about 9 weeks ago and would like to go to Babies-r-us to pick out a few things, but am a little afraid about a "fussy melt down" while I'm out.
Just wanted to get some other "mommy" perspective:) - oh and tips on how you made it work!
Thanks:)
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoSoy formula - please help, at the end of my rope!!!?
Okay ladies (and dads too)
I was told that my my girls have a milk protein allergy at about 4 weeks old b/c of the incredible fussiness, watery stools, and mucus and blood traces in stool...so we switched to Nutramigen and they seemed to do good for about a week and a half - now they are spitting up, crying while eating, have a skin rash on he face and upper chest area. Sometimes they eat great and other times it's a cryfest to eat. soon after eating we are fine - they are happy and play.
We have tried rice cereal for reflus and I stopped after a week b/c it gave them so much gas I thought it did more hurt than good...we have been taking prilosec for about a week and a half - and no big improvements so I am not super sure it's reflux...
Has anyone experienced this? Did you try soy formula? I know Nutramigen is easy to digest, but it contains a trace amount of milk product that is "broken down to be easily tolerated" for allergies.
I know they say if your baby is gaining weight and not dehydrated then you shouldn't switch...do you think it will do more harm than good???
I really want my happy babies back - am am at the end of my rope...
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoNutramigen formula and soy?
Hey folks,
My 7 week old twins are currently on nutramigen formula for a severe cow's milk protein allergy. I have heard that 30-50% of kids allergic to milk proteins are also allergic to soy...
I was wondering if any of you experienced this - did you try the soy after nutramigen? was it successful, or did you have a reaction?
Thanks for the input.
1 AnswerNewborn & Baby1 decade agostarting birth control after baby?
Hey ladies -
I just went back for my 6 week check up and got a prescription for birth control - but forgot to ask the DR. if I could start taking them today even if I have not had my "period" yet (I am still having some postpartum bleeding -TMI)
Does anyone know if I can start them today - do I have to wait until Sunday, or do I have to wait until I know that I have started my period?
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhen does baby start being more awake?
Hey ladies -
Just wondering what your experience has been (I know that every baby is different:)
When did your baby start being more awake? I have 6 week old twins and they basically follow a eat, playtime, then sleep "Schedule" (I use that word NOT in a strict sense - but yes we do have a "schedule" as they are twins and it's easier:)
Any whoo - They generally eat every 4 hours - which means that they sleep about 2 to 2 1/2 of the 4 hour interval. This means like 4 "naps" a day. When did your kids start staying up more and being more active (like just taking 2 naps a morning and an afternoon one?)
Thanks for the input - GO MOMMIES , and daddies too!
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoReflux results for infants?
Hey folks - I really appreciated everyone's info. last night about my daughter's and their reflux - thanks! I have 6 week old twins - and this was per my Dr.'s advice...
NExt question - What results did any of you see when you started using rice cereal to help with reflux? My Pedi told me to mix just 1 teaspoon with their formula/milk and monitor for 1 day before increasing to 2 teaspoons (if no real results then come in.)
So - Just wondering what anyone else's experience is/was with using rice cereal to help reflux - did it help, how long did it take until you saw results, what did you notice were "side effects" (ie too much weight gain, effects on bowel movements, etc...)
Oh and - did you feel that you needed to feed less (I mean like if they were at 4 oz - did you do 3 1/5 oz with the cereal - or did you just stay with your same feeding schedule and amounts??)
Thank you for your input:)
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoSleep and spitting up?
I have 6week old twins and just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem - Yes I am talking to my DR. about it - but just wanted others experience.
My daughters are spitting up during their sleep - I put them down to sleep/nap and almost every time when I go back to wake/feed again they each have a little wet spot by their heads (sometimes alot, sometimes a little) They are gaining weight.
Anyone else experience this - what did you do? What did your pedi say?
11 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoRental Question - please help.?
I am renting an apartment but have found a house and would like to give my land lord 1 month notice from the closing. I am NOT on a "year long lease" I am a month to month contract. I would like to end my rental in the middle of the month as my house closing would be around this date. That would mean giving 1 month notice,
ex - I will give notice on the 9th but will be vacating the property on the 10th of the next month
So, that would mean I have to pay for a partial month's rent (like pro-rating for the actual number of days I stay from the 1st to the 10th of the next month) HOWEVER, when I approached my land lord he said I wold have to pay the FULL month of rent as I can only give a month's notice on the 1st of the month in order to move out??? Does this make sense, can he do that? Is it law since I do not have a written lease, and an simply on a renewing contract month to month?
Amy help would be appreciated
