Nutramigen formula and soy?

Hey folks,

My 7 week old twins are currently on nutramigen formula for a severe cow's milk protein allergy. I have heard that 30-50% of kids allergic to milk proteins are also allergic to soy...

I was wondering if any of you experienced this - did you try the soy after nutramigen? was it successful, or did you have a reaction?

Thanks for the input.

My son had to go on the very expensive nutramigen when he was an infant as well. At four months I was able to start slowly introducing him to the "gentle" similac formula (I would mix the two, each time adding a little more of the gentle formula). I would ask your pediatrician when a good time to try to change them to soy would be. For me it was 4 months and my son by 5 months was over the allergy.
