When does baby start being more awake?

Hey ladies -

Just wondering what your experience has been (I know that every baby is different:)

When did your baby start being more awake? I have 6 week old twins and they basically follow a eat, playtime, then sleep "Schedule" (I use that word NOT in a strict sense - but yes we do have a "schedule" as they are twins and it's easier:)

Any whoo - They generally eat every 4 hours - which means that they sleep about 2 to 2 1/2 of the 4 hour interval. This means like 4 "naps" a day. When did your kids start staying up more and being more active (like just taking 2 naps a morning and an afternoon one?)

Thanks for the input - GO MOMMIES , and daddies too!

around 3 mos. to 4 mos. they start becoming more active/ playful. up until then they basically eat, sleep, and poop LOL. Don't worry, once they are running around the place getting into EVERYTHING you'll think longingly back to these days.

  • Ummm goodness, I feel like a moron now lol. I don't remember exactly when ours started staying more alert. I want to say right around 3-4 months. I know for sure by 6 months they were up most of the day.

Sorry lol....lord I feel like an idiot. My sons 9 months old. I got pregnant with this baby (last baby) when he was 4 months to the day. I'm pretty sure he was only getting 2-3 naps then.

My baby started to stay awake for and completely skip one nap time between feedings (luckily during the day) when she was around 2 months. After that, the daytime naps just got shorter. It's a gradual thing. Of course, your twins may not become more alert at the same time...that would be normal too.
