Yep......I got laid off 7 months before I could retire......I took about a week or so of pity.......then I started my own business.......I retired and still work 2 or 3 days a week...........give yourself time to grieve then get going.........

OMG!
I was just laid off September 5th due to the economy. I have never been laid off or fired in my life. I felt so worthless, and lost.
But hang in there, as you start to job search and examine your alternatives that feeling wears off, and things should start looking up.
