How to Turn on and off the Live CD of Ubuntu Linux?

SO, I decided to download Linux. Nevertheless, I don't want to mess up my Hard Disk since I'm not that good in the booting kind of stuff; I ended up download the Ubuntu .ISO file from their website. (ALL it took was just a century!!! ;p )

Anyway, now I want to run the OS from the CD, without having to install it, since this is why I downloaded Ubuntu. I afraid, however, I might mess up, you know how Linux installation is so "straight-forward", huh? So, how do I make it run from the CD, and when I do want to return to Windows, what do I do.

Thanks for standing all of that reading.

Just burn a bootable CD and boot from it. Choose the "run Ubuntu without installing" option, you will go straight to the Desktop.

Ubuntu will not touch the hard drive until you click the "install" icon on the desktop, follow 7 steps of partitioning, etc. and confirm that you want to format the drives.

Running Live will cause no harm and to go back to windows you will have to restart the computer and take out the CD from the drive. Then it will load windows as it does now.

next time, while the laptop starts to boot, press <in spite of it says on the reveal> to get into setup. Open the CD drawer, take out the CD, then go out the setup reveal and the laptop will start up the boot technique returned. some computers, in the event that they see a CD interior thechronic on the commencing up of the boot sequence, do no longer boot suitable if the CD is taken out. so so you might take the CD out, then stress the boot technique to restart. Exiting setup does that.
