  • Good books on "Reading Physcology"?

    I mean, for example, when I look at text which is written in a big size, I feel like I'd like to proceed, compared to the "depression" I feel when I see small text. So, are there any books discussing that topic: how the physical appearance of text can actually encourage somebody to read the text?

  • VB.Net's equivalent of lists in C++?

    I want to collect some information in an "array", the only problem is: I don't how large the array could be. I won't be that surprised if it had to encompass 100,000 values or so. So, I'm wondering how to create a list in VB.Net, something similar to arrays basically but which take heaps whenever needed and return them after being destructted, thus allowing me to insert as much information as I need.

  • VC++ string manuplation help?

    ok SoStringsAreDriving (Me, Nuts);

    1)How to get the location of the caret (The flashing |, I don't whether that's the caret or not.) in a richTextBox?

    2)How to... let's say I want to color all the instances of the word "green" in the richTextBox green, how to do that? What I do is that I use the indexOf function. After 20 builds or so, it finally works, but only for the first "green". The other greens are still black.

    Thank you.

  • VC++ doesn't want to build, says it can't spawn cmd.exe?

    My Visual C++ 2008 Pro Edition doesn't complete building any program successfully, not anymore I mean. When it's done with the process, it displays this in the Error Description column:

    "Error spawning cmd.exe" My CMD is fine. BUT, IT'S ALSO GOOD TO NOTE THAT THE PROBLEM STARTED TO OCCUR THE SAME DAY I DOWNLOADED Dev-C++. Might this be the problem? If yes, how to solve it, without uninstalling Dev-C++? If no, then what to do next? What is spawning anyway? Never heard of it before.

  • Why are American blind?

    How come innocent people get killed by some people who are killed by some fat jews are terrorists, while those jews are people to sympathize?! How are you thinking?

    And for those of you saying that Hamas started it all, weren't the Jews ASSAULTING Hamas and all the rest of the Palestinians for like... 50 years! I assure you, when your seeing your relatives killed in front of your own eyes, that's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay long!

    Besides, mathematically, 1 is not equal to 300.

  • Best Web Design Language in your opinion?

    Most people say it's one of these four: PHP (MySQL), Ruby (on Rails), Java, and... I can't remember the fourth. So, in your opinion, which is the best? And why? As for me, I think I prefer Java since it offers more power.

  • int(x/((1-4x^2)^1/2)) is equal to?

    int(x/((1-4x^2)^1/2)) = 1/4 arcsin(2x) + c

    The books says the answer is -1/4(1-4x^2)^1/2 + c is the solution. Yeah, I know that this is surely correct, and easier than the way I used, but I was wondering whether my answer is also true or if I did something wrong somewhere.

    My substitution is:

    u = 2x, since 1/rt(1-u^2) = arcsin(u). Am I mistaken!

  • What is an emulator ?

    Is it a version of some program made for an OS other than the real version's, or it is a program which can open any executable file on an OS other than its real version's?

    If it's the latter, then what's the name of a good PS2-> Windows emulator. Thanks.

  • Why are people with different beliefs scolding each other all the time around here?

    I mean come on, it's not like people would actually listen if you just humiliate them. If somebody doesn't agree with you, you can't force him to. A human can never control another human's mind. I use this section whenever I want to learn how to insult in English! So, can you guys just be A LITTLE, just a little, peaceful. Thanks.

  • Anybody who can help me with a differential?

    The book mentions that a differential is 111pi. However, the differential I worked out after 30 minutes solving was 1.7pi. The question was:

    Estimate the change in the volume of a cylinder, if the radius increases from 30 to 30.2, and the height decreases from 10 to 9.99. (HINT: V=pi r^2 h)

  • Free hosting services?

    I know this is crazy, but I believe in magic. Do you know any free web hosting service which gives you a domain name (not sub-domain). No problem with the ads but the larger the space you take, the better.

    I know that you can make it for almost no cost when using some ISP's, or even open your own ports, but I want to keep my files private and don't want to buy a whole computer just for making a tini tiny website.

    So...?

    Wow, I didn't know I could type that fast, I'm done with writing all of that in less than a year!!!

  • How to Turn on and off the Live CD of Ubuntu Linux?

    SO, I decided to download Linux. Nevertheless, I don't want to mess up my Hard Disk since I'm not that good in the booting kind of stuff; I ended up download the Ubuntu .ISO file from their website. (ALL it took was just a century!!! ;p )

    Anyway, now I want to run the OS from the CD, without having to install it, since this is why I downloaded Ubuntu. I afraid, however, I might mess up, you know how Linux installation is so "straight-forward", huh? So, how do I make it run from the CD, and when I do want to return to Windows, what do I do.

    Thanks for standing all of that reading.

  • My VS 2008 Pro. doesn't recognize C++ headers.?

    When programming in C++ with my Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition, well, it doesn't recognize any namespace or any header other than "stdafx", which of course, isn't really cool when it comes to actually making a program. So, any suggestions about how to correct this?

    N.B.

    In the headers folder of any program, there are only two .h files, one of which is "stdafx.h". So, do I need to create another .h file in it for the other headers to work correctly or what?

    Thanks.
