Any good hard disk recovery freeware?
So I woke up 4 months ago (on 15/7, I still remember!) to find my USB Hard Disk empty. I took it to a technical and he couldn't do anything but format the hard disk. Any Ideas? Because that data was really dear.
The technie guy used it on another computer, and I tried it on both the laptop and the desktop, so yeah, I did try it on more than one computer.

You can try to recover data from formatted USB hard disk with Easy File Undelete software:
http://www.munsoft.com/EasyFileUndelete/
It uses unique modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is unable to detect.

If the hard disk was formatted you are unlikely to recover the data. Even using the software, Recuva will not restore those files. You need to take that disk to a Specialize IT data bank for recovery. The cost my friend is enormous. It will cost you HUNDREDS of dollars to recover that data. You have to determine whether your data is worth that much.

Is your External hard drive a Maxtor/Seagate? If so they may be able to help you with it. Suggest you give them a call. The technical support number is (1.800.732.4283). Hope this helps solve your problem. They have always been very helpfull with my problems with hard drives!

I've read good reviews about PC Inspector freeware. Never needed to use it though.

cuando mi ordenador ha tenido un accidente no sabía si valía la pena cambiarle el hard disk o comprar otro nuevo, he tenido mucha suerte con amazon, he encontrado el producto perfecto, un transporte rápido y mi portátil funciona otra vez y mejor que antes porque el hard disk tiene una mejor velocidad de respuesta.
