Want to restore two partitions back together?

I tried to download Linux on 14 GB of my HDD, but the installation failed at the last step! So, now, those 14 GB are neither used by Linux nor by Windows. I want to restore them to partition D. How to do this? AND, which drives will be formatted, so that I back up my data.

Update:

Windows Vista Premium.. and the Linux is Ubuntu.

you can simply use fdisk to delete those two partitions and then create the new partition by combining the free space.

i would also recommend a program called PartitionMagic. its a commercial app which means you will need to purcahse it, but it might include a demo for 30 days or so.

there are a few free tools out there but i cant think of any right now.

    hope this helped
