What is an emulator ?
Is it a version of some program made for an OS other than the real version's, or it is a program which can open any executable file on an OS other than its real version's?
If it's the latter, then what's the name of a good PS2-> Windows emulator. Thanks.

An emulator is software that runs inside of an OS (like Windows), but sets up a "fake" (techincal term is "virtual") PS2 within your Windows PC. That virtual PS2 is not an OS, because it is not controlling your entire PC. It is just a program that read the PS2 game, and then sends the appropriate commands to Windows so that Windows can display the same thing the PS2 would have displayed.
It is closer to the second definition. It allows Windows to run the PS2 files.
