TTC after Depo Provera?
Hi everyone.. I was the shot (depo provera) for about 6 months (2 shots total).. my last shot was May of 2007 and was scheduled to go back in August of 2007 but didn't since we decided to have another baby. It's been over a year and still no luck.
SO for those who have been on the shot and got pregnant afterwards, how long did it take you? I know it varies upon how your body reacts to the shot, etc. but I'm just trying to see if TTC for over a year now is normal or if I should plan on seeing a doctor? Thanks for any help!
OH I forgot to add, while on the shot I spotted all throughout the 6 months and maybe a couple months after that. My period is (or at least it seems!) back to normal now and has been for a while.

I was on it for 8.5 years, with the last one being October 07. In January I went in and got on the pill which I guess I took for about a month. I had NO regularity to my cycles what so ever. Meaning that in Feb I bleed 4 different days for only 1 day each. I think March and April were normal except that April had a normal period and spotting 2 weeks later for a day or so. Can't remember May or June. July, I had what I would call normal on the 7th and what I would call "irregular" starting on the 31st. This one on the 31st only lasted 2-3 days. The day it started, I actually got physically sick. I didn't have a period in August but I felt like crap one day and got a wild hair and decided to test. Lo and Behold, it came out positive. I was surprised. I am now almost 8 weeks along. In all honesty, I didn't expect it to happen this soon, just solely because of the length of time I took the shot, but DH and I are excited just the same. Anything is possible.
So I guess the answer to the question is less than a year after my last shot and about 8 months since it should have "worn off".
Good Luck to you!!!!

we have just come off it (due to have a shot begining sept) and my saliva test has just told me today that i am almost ovulating.
so fertility must be comming back already, dont know how long we will take to concieve tho.
when you hear the horror stories most couples manage to concieve within the two year time frame anyway and also its waiting for a normalised menstrual cycle which you now have so shouldnt have any problems

I hope you get some answers, I'll be in the same boat as you after Aug. 26th (last day of effectiveness of the shot) and I can't wait to TTC #3! Good luck & lots of baby dust!
