Any one know a relief for swollen feet?

My feet have been swollen for a few weeks now. Some days they dont bother me. But some days they hurt and the pain goes up to my knees. The pain isnt bad, its like that tingly feeling u get when u go to stand up after sitting on your feet a certain way and they go to sleep. Kindof that pins and needles feeling.

Anyway, i prop my feet up, but this does not help. I called the doc, but it takes forever for them to get back to u. U guys on here r faster to respond. So im hoping at least one of u know something that will make my legs/feet feel better. Thanks.

Update:

i dont have a heart problem, or any other that i know of besides my thyroid. but i just need to know if i can keep the swelling and discomfort down till i see the doctor on the first. thanks!

Do you have a heart condition, because if you do this is a sign of fluid retention, and it means that your heart is not pumping properly and therefore you are building up fluid. Hope this info is of help. But to be on the safe side ask your dr. and hopefully he can shed some light on your problem.

Keep your feet up as much as you can. When you're in bed, put a pillow under your legs. Elevating your legs higher than your heart promotes the fluid to travel back to your body for re-circulation. Drink MORE water. While you may experience more swelling in the short term (like a day or so) eventually you'll start peeing more and you'll get rid of more fluid out of your body in the long run and alleviating the swelling. Also most pregnant women have their feet grow .5 to 1.5 shoe sizes larger in pregnancy, which could explain your sandals. Sometimes the increase in size is permanant. I went from an 8.5 to a 9.5 with my daughetr and I never went back to an 8.5 again. I'm now a 9. Bleh.
