Have to go to wedding, I can't wear shoes!?

I have twisted my ankle some two weeks ago, it is still swollen. Sunday I have to attend a wedding. The weather is rather chilly for sandals, and I can't fit my left foot into a closed shoe. What shall I do?

I think it is not appropriate to go on sports shoes...

any idea?

go ot the wedding, but put a ankle brace on it, and use a single crutch. that way, people would be able ot see you aren't able to fit your foot into a shoe, but wihtout drawimg as much attention ot yourself as you would wiht two crutches

or you and a frined, have the same shoes, but hers a a size bigger, fit it into that and wear yours sorry if thats kinda hard to follow. i know what im trying to say, but not how to say it!

In a case like that it is not an etiquette mistake to wear a tennis shoe for example. Of course it might look a little bit funny especially if you are wearing something dressy but I am sure everyone will understand.

You could also see if you can find a flat shoe that doesn't look too much like a tennis shoe that you can fit your foot in!
