Will it be a new talent success without 13 SL cricketers VS England tour 2009?

Agree or disagree...

All answers are the best.

Even through England ODI & test side will be the top dogz, do you think the natural talent of SL Cricket cricketers can take great pride of basic cricket skills & win one ODI or one Test match VS England 2009?

However, unknown talent from SL can come out of the lion's den & show the world what a team called Sri Lanka Cricket shall do without 13 cricketers playing for the IPL maybe...

Update:

For batting well, SL did fair with the under 19 tournament however, lost to NZ fast bowlers...other than that i think SL can prosper well Mel.

Sri Lanka literally has nothing to lose in the tour if we look at it, the team will be comprising of young in-experienced players (if the IPL contracted players refuse) so the new players will only gain some experience & that is always a good thing but I'm sure it will be a good competitive series.

It is not going to be easy. A complete bunch of inexperienced players is not a good thing. But they have nothing to lose. If all of SL's IPL players give the England tour a miss, then it will be hard for Sri Lanka to defeat the revamped English side. I'll rule out the chances of winning a test match. If that happens, that's a miracle. But in ODI's, there is a chance, albeit a remote one. We have seen what happened to full strength South African team during the recently concluded ODI series

It is still a long way to go for the england tests nearly 9 months.........

there is a possibility for the srilanakans to do as the NZ players did last time round when thier test series were clasihing with the IPL. they didn't play the practice games but late joined the team for the tests.....

but as for srilanka players from the test team who have signed with the ipl are cap Mahela, vice sanga, kapugedara, medis, murali, vass, malinga, maharoof, dilshan so basically there is no team for srilankans....

now if i'm not mistaken our A team did well in SA against their A team but will they be good enough to play in england......... i don't think so....

becuase the main SL team has struggled most of the time to play in england because of the cold weather, and the varried movement of the ball in the air and off the pitch............

in the 2006 series SL played good cricket because sanga, jayasuriya, vass, murali and a few others got a chance to play county cricket so they had some experience about the pitches. but if we send a totally new team then the consequence will be very rash on SL cric.......

i would love to see Sanga mahela murali vass & specially Mendis showing up for the test series because they are class acts and it they can set a good example...........

SL should not losse the wining streak they've built up in the last 2 years coming forth from England 2006.

We have some beautiful young bowlers. e.g Welegedera, Amerasinghe. And i honestly think that a young bowling attack from Sri Lanka will be able to give A fight against the English.

However as far as batsmen i think Sri Lanka will be out done by a mile. I haven't seen or heard of any big names when it comes to batsmen in domestic, and at the momment even our current batting order is quite fragile and slightly weak.

If you mean success as in wins, i dont think Sri Lanka will be able to do that. However if you mean success as in finding some raw talent then i think yes Sri Lanka will have some success.

interior the series in basic terms complete India batted first 3 time and Sri Lanka two times with SL triumphing the final recreation. Our ex captain, Alan Border constantly felt it replace into greater effective to bowl first then the group knew what to chase and procedures could be labored out to get the runs. yet another income of batting 2d is that with a climate shortened recreation, the area batting 2d is in many circumstances advantaged (inspite of the undeniable fact that do no longer tell SA that). Angelo, be particular, it truly is 2 ODI series in a row. do no longer forget approximately that SL did beat India interior the try series.
