Torn between two impact wrenches?
I've finally decided to get a 1in impact wrench (Ingersoll-rand) to use in my shop. Now I've narrowed the choices to two.
Ingersoll-Rand 217XP or Ingersoll-Rand 285-B
Both seem to have the same specs except that the 217XP looks more like 3/4" gun and the latter, a mini-battering ram. i am just going to use it for tire removal of big trucks (32mm-41mm)
Help!

The pistol grip is hard on your wrists when hammering on nuts and bolts that big. I feel you have better control and more Comfort in the D- handle or "battering ram". I use both, the pistol grip for my 1/2 impact and the D-handle for my 1in. impact. Although rather pricey Ingersoll is a good product and I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever one you choose. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Get the battering ram. I know i guy who bought the pistol type guns for his tire shop and somebody at McDonald's got a 22rlp With their big mack. But its all in your preference . me i like the ones that try and rip your arms off. Plus the chicks dig you when you sling around this big massive impact.
