A LEVEL HELP!!!!!!!i!!?

Im in upper sixth form and this is my essay question.

Analyse the techniques which greene utilises to give impact to the opening chapter of 'Brighton Rock'. You should consider:

- the means used to create tension

- the movement of Hale's thoughts and feelings

- the characterisation - 'Ida', 'the boy' etc.

- the use of brighton as a setting

please could you give me some notes so it makes my work easier to understand.

    umm haven't read it but, it means

    to analyse is to looks through it and comment it. cant explain but yeah.

    Remember to focus on how all these techniques give impact to the opening,

    Write about how the author writes to create tension such as by using short sentencses or something. and how it give impact to the story. It make it more interesting to read on.. lets sat

    Then say how the actions and feelings Hale is a technique that gives impact to the opening seen.

    Eg We can relate to Hales thoughts etc. havent read it so i dont know)

    Then the characterisation. How the boys copes and develops in the situation

    and how the setting sets the moof and gives a huge impact on the opening

    I havent read it so i cant really give you notes but i can help you
