Question about my Birthday ?

my birthday is saturday, and i feel a little less than thrilled.

i am not having a party and i am kinda of upset about it. normally, we have a party every year for each other. invite a bunch of friends. eat drink and be merry lol

i wont get to have a big party next year either because my b-day is going to be the weekend before the wedding. and all of the presents i am getting (from my mom and fiance) are for the wedding - art supplies to make invitations, favors, programs, etc

i dont really have the money to get everything needed to have a party - alcohol, snacks, decorations

am i being selfish or would you be upset too?

Update:

i'm not saying i expect a party or that it wont be a good birthday with out one.

i am just bummed.

I just had my B-day and opted out of a party. I was upset even though I thought I really didn't want to have a party. I don't blame you for being upset. Is there anything cheaper that you can do. What if you had everyone BYOB and dish. How, about recycling old party favors. You can have a smaller party and still have a great time.

I never celebrate my birthday, so I don't know where you're coming from gettin all peeved about it.....it's just another day IMO. Does it really matter that you were born on that day 20 something years ago? is it that important to you? would it make a difference if it was December 10th instead?

certain things change as you grow up, get married. you're just going to have to accept that this is going to be one of them.

i encourage you to change your expectations and priorities to match!
