I know for a fact, Obama os going to wipe the floor with the old man if they get into an unscripted debate.

I think McCain must have realized that Obama was about to draw and quarter him over his half truths, false statements, and poor judgement on several fronts.

McCain stated long ago that economics are not an area his is proficient in. Thats public knowledge a statement that he once made. I feel he is trying to get out of the debate until he can first have what he is asking for now...bipartisan agreement on the bailout. If its a bipartisan agreement, McCain can expect to waive many questions during the debate to the fact that both parties are already in agreement. Truely the worst financial crisis is the one we know face so any tough questions will be about it and he can simply say that one's taken care of...
He is terrified that he would have to face the country on an economic debate ...he has little or no economic knowledge at all. Obama is trying to call the bluff and say we can do both..both the meetings in Washington and the debate in Misissippi. McCain said he won't go to the debate unless this is solved first, and he knows it won't be solved by Friday, giving him more time to work on his answers for the debate.

No, I believe that he is doing what he should be doing which is caring about the country first. I believe he is doing his job as senator. He took off not doing part of the Republican National Convention due to Hurricate Ike and now he's doing the same for America's economy. He is doing what he should do by worrying about his country first and not about having a good time or doing what's good for him in the debate. He only cares about what's best for the economy. He shows that he's willing to put the country first. Thats what a good president should do. Obama is all worried about his campaign and doesn't care about what's happening around him. If he's doing that now, what will he do if he gets into office? Besides, President Bush asked both candidates if they would come to D.C. so everyone could discuss what would be best to do and stuff like that. McCain is the only one that did anything. Obama was just going to blow off the president. Now tell me, would you do that? You really need to get your facts straight first. Also, if they miss this meeting, whoever does go into the Whitehouse would kinda be in the dark about some of the things they talked about at the meeting. Some stuff you can only get if you're there. I believe that McCain is doing the right thing. What's one debate compared to America's and the world's economy?

No he is not his gesture is to try to help America not avoid a young busy body man who wants to be seen and heard but let McCain do the work like now! I think your opinion not fact is wrong because like now McCain has been working with the President and both parties for many years for him to do what he is doing now is just part of his normal life however what happens when Obama tries to state what is going on when he isn't even concerned enough right now to stop trying to smear McCain long enough to care about America. The fact is that Obama sit in the meeting lost he has no clue as to what he is doing there nor has he added anything he looks like a young college boy out of place and trying to learn what McCain already knows and that isn't to mention Palin with her wit and charm with the fast pace learner she is will put it all over Biden too because Biden is to full of himself and thinks he has all the answers yet it don't clean his own closet out before trying to clean hers. OOps mistake he made already and I am sure we will see many more from both him and Obama during the next few wks. America don't need a man who wants to be in the movies and better at pretending than reality this isn't a show it's for real Obama needs to realize that and go home and stay there. And it isn't the first time he has stop campaigning so get a grip he did this also when the hurricane was coming into texas so was he scared of ? what then? NO it isn't a political call it's caring for the country he was born and raised in and it's called one nation under God not the racist split country spirit man's domain.

Yes, I believe he would prefer not to. The only way he wanted to debate was in a town hall setting because he knew he would get the crowd to heckle Obama and then it wouldn't matter that he didn't know what he was talking about. I think that if he does agree to debate, he will stall long enough so that there won't be enough time to have the Vice Prez debate, and he can at least get Palin off the hook and keep her from destroying all his chances.
Source(s): Yeah, and what IS with his E Y E? I noticed it today too. He probably did have a S T R O K E. Of course they're not gonna tell anyone though. They make me sick. - beartruthLv 41 decade ago
you must be a die heart obama supporter, so please do tell me again...what is it his experience, let me help you.
Community Leader (as I am)
143 days of being a Senator (I have 21 years of owning major company that employee's 35 people)
wrote 2 books about himself (I don't feel the need to)
NOW, that is what you think is enough experience to take office in such a need of time. If you had brains, you would see Palin has more experience than Obama, but you can't see clear...If Obama was so sure of himself, why did not not agree to any town debates and only 2 debates, McCain called for 10 town debates, Obama 0...wonder why

I would not underestimate 30 years of knowledge against an empty suit that can say a bunch of words with out meaning. Obama specialty is deflecting the issues not answering to them. McCain may not be a silver tongued devil like Obama. But he has the right answers and they will go much further.

NO. He is putting the country first and taking action, as will be expected of him when he becomes president. Obama just wants to talk about problems without finding solutions. Also, McCain is great in debates, without a teleprompter. Furthermore, the debate is about foreign affairs, not economy. So Obama's reasoning for keeping the debate does not make sense because they would not even be talking about the economy. Obama wants to debate because he doesn't want to actually have to do his job and show everyone that he has no idea what he's doing, because he's never actuall done it. He has campaigned the entire team he has been a senator.

Yeah, you have him all figured out *sarcastic laugh* ..a man that spent more than 5 years in a prison being beaten & invited nobama to go on the road in town hall mtgs is 'afraid' of that NOTHING obama...especially when the topic is foriegn policy, which is mccain's strength...you are an idiot~literally
wipe the floor, huh? then I am assuming that obama is going to be allowed to bring his 'teleprompter'?
Source(s): the nut job who is cutting and pasting the shi* about a stroke is not accomplishing anything except to be annoying...we're not buying your shi*, so peddle it somewhere else...about to start reporting it every time I see it...dumb a**! And by the way...Mccain could be a better president WITH a stroke, than obama WITHOUT ONE! - united9198Lv 71 decade ago
McCain is not afraid of Obama or a debate. He proposed more debates than Obama would agree to. I think McCain was trying to the right thing in a very complex environment. So far, the only skill that Obama has shown is his speaking ability. Should we elect a president who looks good in a suit and sounds poetic, or one that will put the welfare of the country first? Hopefully most people will see through the fog and select the guy who can do the job.

Not at all! Do you think Obama was afraid to take McCain on in 10 townhall meetings? Was Obama afraid, when McCain offered a debate the following week during the Saddleback forum?
