I wouldnt call them ghosts. I prefer the word 'Spirits'. The reason you give i almost correct. What i am saying i just my interpretation of this stuff.

Each life has soul and each soul comes with a certain period's visa to this world. When the visa expires it needs to go back to where it came from. But sometimes due to tragic events or unexpected accidents the person may die before his set time.

Lets say for instance, a person A comes to earth with a life period of say 90 years. But due to some unexpected reasons this person dies at the age of 70. Now the 20 years left for the soul the soul will be wandering on earth with no scope to reach its destination. So i guess it has to move on earth.

Like in the Hindu system we do this 'Shraadham' and 'Tarpanam' which are done for the salvation of the departed ones. So maybe such acts help them get salvation. Also one's karma plays a big role here.

This was just the spiritual or religious type of reason. I have two more reasons to prove the existence or lets just two more arguments to this.

One is that, some believe in the thoery of the parallel world. That is the existence of another world which is there with ours but in a different dimension. So when both the worlds coincide at some point we happen to see the creatures of that world and feel them to be ghosts since they appeared from nowhere. Think about it - if really such a thing existed then probably a man walking a road in his world and that part comes in intersection with our world and in the very place in our world say there is a dead end, to us it will seem like the man walked in thru the dead end whereas maybe for that man it was a straight road for him.

Another reason for feeling or seeing ghosts is the impressions the incident had made in the atmosphere. Like you said if something violent had happened i.e. powerful then the incident leaves its mark on the atmosphere. That is the reason some people claim the existence of ghosts in some place or room or ike the hindi films in some 'haveli'! But on a serious note those impressions are the very reason why we sometimes feel negative and positive vibrations in some place.

Hope i didnt confuse...lol and i am sorry for deviating from your question. It was quite interesting indeed so just took the liberty to answer more.

To conclude, i do believe in spirits.

first of all how you define ghosts...

is it like some died before his/her time and become a ghost can say it really... it might our imagination...

do u believe in superman, spiderman, or any other super hero

if someone say that he do then you'll laugh at him just because they don't exist but for kids they do...

humans are always a kid no matter wa? the age is...

we live in a dream world...

so we believe in super hero things when we are kids..

and when we grown ups we are still kids by heart all we gained in the period is just experince like how to speek what to speak...

and all that...

so we make a new imagination that is ghosts...

but according to me they doesn't exist...

why is that so do only humans have the right be ghosts animals are also alive and also died before there time...

When i was about 6 i think, i saw a ghost out front my window of previous owners, he was painting the house, and he waved at me and so i waved back XD

But i have had more than 1 encounter with the "paranormal"

Like the other day, i was sitting here, listening to music, when i heard someone whisper my name. see i was alone, and sure as hell those dogs can't speak! LOL so i am guessing it's a ghost trying to reach me or my higher self.

But yes, i believe in it, and i think we become ghosts to look out on our family because i have countlessy seen my step dads mother passing me, like flashes of white light in the bright of day :)

I never believed in ghosts until I watched the Republican National Convention a few weeks ago.

I think that anything is possible. It would be interesting if they were real. In someways I do believe that they are real. However I don't believe in all of those shows that investigate things like that. Those I believe are completely fake. Personally I think that those shows actually make ghosts into being a joke, like people believe they are less real or less possible because of those shows.

I WANT to believe. I love ghost stories and things of that nature but I honestly have no idea. It defies all science which is what I believe in more than anything but I so want mystery in the world. So with that, I CHOOSE to believe and convince myself that science will discover that somehow it all makes sense. ^_^
