Has anyone went back and figured how screwed up things would be if we had always had the chase?
In other words would Petty and Earnhardt have more championships or less? Also, big winners like Pearson and Allison would they have more?
Thanks Lynn that's exactly what I was looking for.

Wow,Lynn, that was a great link.Talking about things being different!!
Let's see:
Richard Petty would still have 7 championships
Cale Yarborough would have won 4 in a row(76-79)
Darrell Waltrip would have won 3 in a row
Bobby Labonte would have won 2 in a row
Kyle Petty would have won it in 1992!?!?
Harry Gant would have two championships!!
Earnhardt would be short one, making his total 6
Gordon would be short one.making his 3
and Jimmie Johnson would have one more!!
It's sad to see that Mark Martin still would not have a championship, though.
but it's amazing to see how many championships still remained the same and how some drivers would have won the same amount of championships, but in different years!!!!!

Jeff Gordon would end up having 6 Titles I believe if we were still in the old format. Im not a Gordon fan, but a fan of the sports history. So Ive been rooting for Gordon to tie Earnhardt and Petty. ( But not pass)

We'll never know because everyone would have strategized and raced differently had the points system been different. I think no matter the system, the cream will end up at the top. We have yet to see a underserving champion under the chase format. Don't get me wrong. I dont like the chase.

True...
They wouldn't
The Chase is so unfair
Those who work so hard in the regular season have to put up with NASCAR and their plan "to let others have a chance"...
That's stupid....
In life, there are no chances for others... Those who worked harder and deserve it, win!!!
