Does McCain really think his presence is necessary for the Bail Out?

It seems like he's trying to avoid the debate with Obama.

His presence is NOT necessary and in fact is slowing the whole process down. Apparently "suspending his campaign" doesn't include ads, interviews and donations.....what's left? Oh, I know, attending the debates to give credence to his campaigns position on issues. This is nothing more than grandstanding, and is a tactic that McCain has used in his past failed runs for office. Too bad for him the American public wised up to the fact that "me first!" is the actual basis for his running. If he wanted to do what is best for this country he would move his old *** out of the way and stop gumming up the works so that the people that are doing the actual work to resolve this economic crisis can get the job done.

While his timing for the announcement was ill-advised, returning to the Senate for important work show more dedication than staying on the campaign trail.

If McCain's people use their heads, they will make this into a huge plus. They can honestly say: McCain has returned to the Senate floor to take part in the debate over a fiscal policy that will effect every American. Senator McCain places duty above campaigning. Where was Senator Obama while this critical debate was in progress? He was ignoring his constituents, and ignoring the country while trying to drum up more votes for himself. Senator McCain places duty, and country above mere party politics.

See, a positive spin can be put on McCain's return to the Capitol. I'm sorry to see the debate fall apart. I think McCain should have made his announcement Monday, returned to the capitol, politiced like hell all week and been at Ole Miss on Friday night.

He's not trying to avoid the debate. He has asked for many more debates/town hall meetings that Senator Obama said no too.

He is still a Senator (both are), right now he feels he needs to be doing the job he was elected to do.

I don't agree with it, but I give him credit for saying the right now he needs to be involved with the process of trying to figure out the best solution for this mess that could have been avoided if the Democrats wouldn't have blocked the effort to look at it a couple of years ago

Mostly he is grandstanding and trying to get Obama to react.

He will go to the debate and try to make it look like it is a big deal with him taking time from saving the country to debate.

Obama is not falling for it. Hopefully most of the country is not either.

He is playing politics to the max!! He may think he is needed, but in reality he is not on the banking committee and has no business mucking up the process. What a huge grandstand effort!

The Republican old-boy network runs almost entirely on arrogance.

just because he's not a great speaker doesn't mean jack. I would rather have the experience behind the guy, rather than someone who speaks well but doesnt know jack!
