Why don't pople understand about the surge?

Not failure... at least not yet.

Further, the Surge was only a reaction to the fact that our Invasion strategy failed and we did NOT have enough troops on the ground for a successful occupation.

The Surge is similar to the Bail-out proposal, in that both are stop-gap measures, and both cannot achieve the ultimate goals unless other variables we cannot control fall into place.

The success of the surge has already been shown to be the result of a mass migration of militants out of the surge area just before the surge occurred, so the entire premise is faulty.

Really? And how is it that the political failed? Seems to me like you are DEAD WRONG there. Sons of Iraq now incorporated and being paid by Iraqis to begin with.....was there something else you forgot to say? Surged worked. Unfortunate that you want to pretend otherwise. It's truly people like you who demoralize the entire mission in the first place.

The surge is only appearing to work right now because we are PAYING our enemy militants for leaving the area.

Who care it's about the economy stupid . Once Obama is sworn in as our next president we will not be talking about this none issue any more because the american troops will come home this country will have save 12 billions a month on a McCain /Bush personal war .
