Yes it was great
It was almost like Obama was a student in the background. McCain showed his command and resolve on the real issues

I was clear that this was not an overwhelming victory for either candidate ...they both had strong points ...but McCain's strong points are of experience and leadership...Obama's where the same things he's been sayng on the stomp..Obama's is very calm cool and collective..Mccain was steady and confident..Mccain has a strong understanding of both the economy and of Foreign Policy...Obama has a strong Idea of the economy but a rehearsed campaign view..He never offered up the answer as to what would he not be able to do now that the bail out changes the scope of things...Mccain Drilled home the Cutting spending..Obama Can not raise taxes on the Wealthy or Business loop holes as he calls it..He can cut taxes to middle america...but it will not cover 95% fact is about 40 %...McCain's tax cuts will be offered to every one,and Businesses will be able to compete and Create Jobs..However the health care Credit will have to be adjusted Down ..that is fact, that may not be enough to afford a doctor...Obama's Health Plan will raise our taxes..and the government will be in charge ...they did so great monitoring wall street..Both Clinton's promised this Health Plan for the last 16 years ..it never passes because it is too cost prohibited.....look at canada...taxes are so high a six pack of beer goes for 15 to 17 dollars..I have been there ..I know.....All and all Mccain is the Man who looked presidential tonight...I did not see that with Obama....

McCain clearly lost the debate. Check it out for yourself with polls from any news stations website. I usually like to check out cnn.com and msnbc.com
Last I checked the majority of polls showed Obama clearly had the lead over McCain.
Taken from msnbc.com : 51% Obama and 35% McCain.
Also with undecided votes more people were leaning towards Obama.
The sad thing about it is 20 minutes into the debate the McCain campaign was already posting ads as McCain as the winning candidate in the first debate. He has obviously shown his worth to the American people and with that lost the debate.

In your dreams and his of course too...LOL! He did poorly despite this debate being his forte. I don't think McCain was strong enough to beat Obama as bad as you describe. In fact many are claiming Obama had a better debate than McCain did. I think a lot of it was at the beginning McCain was not as strong on economic issues and he seemed frustrated and pissed. It would've been a different picture if he would've came in stronger at the beginning but he didn't. So nobody "owned" anybody as you claim but Obama did have a better edge against McCain though.

What?
Everyone says Obama won. ALL THE POLLS, in addition to the audience meter. Obama clearly outed McCain on flat-out lies (majority of US will see tax increase), and stated his points well. McCain continued his tired rhetoric.

Out-of Touch, Victim Playing, Extremists!
Ah, how I love the Dummycratic Party.
Obama is a stuttering prick.

Which channel were you watching? Even Fox News gave Obama the nod. You would have thought McCain won even if he didn't show up.

Spoken like a true supporter
When in fact he owned nothing but suit be was wearing
try as might...not going to work
This debate was same as they both talk about on the trail
Came across as
Old versus new
Same experience/versus new ideas/knowledgeable
Stiff/rigid versus at ease/comfortable
People now see that Obama is not some scary radical the Mc Cains camp has been trying to portray
Mc Cain said look Putin in the eye ,,,but beneath him to even look in Obamas direction....something to be said about people who don't you in the eye
By the way being in countries does not give you the judgment
Mc Cain went off on old days on and on where he was ...so
okay he is old and those were old wars....has not learned from past...on and on about his cold shoulder stance to any country who says boo to us
lol

The media is going to go out of their way to make it appears Obama is leading in polls and won the debate. It is kind of sad that with a sputtering economy, unpopular war, and left leaning mass media Obama is basically tied with McCain in supposed bias free polls. It really shows just how weak and irrelevant the democratic party is when you really think about it.

yes mccain showed his obnoxiuos and patronizing qualities. but, owned obama? no it was mccain's over blown ego that prevailed. but win? check the polls msnbc, cnn and the people voted yes it was close and neither won the entire debate. no neither canditate "owned" the other.

You were clearly watching a different debate because Obama not only spoke the part well he actually looked the part. McCain couldn't even look at his opponent. That doesn't seem very presidential to me.
