What does the bible say about a parent that disowns their gay child?

A man I know once told me that we can look at things through our own eyes or through the eyes of the cross, through the eyes of Jesus. The Bible says that "God is love." When Jesus died on the cross for us, that was a profound expression of His love for us.

So when we examine the relationships we have with those around us, we should do so through the eyes of love, through the eyes of Christ.

God is Holy. Our sin distances us from Him, it separates us from Him. ALL sin does this. Who we are, even our broken nature...

But "while we were sinners, Christ died for us." He offers us hope. And we should follow in His ways, looking at all of humanity through His eyes. He loved us so much, He chose to be with us, chose to empty Himself and die for us.

Why on earth would a parent disown someone Jesus has died for?

Why would you disown your child Jesus didn't disown us and how do you disown a child ?You may not agree with your childs belief and if they live under your roof you do have the right to set the rules of your home and if they do not wish to follow them then they can always go live somewhere else when they are old enough to.Nothing wrong with that you do not have to support their view or lifestyle.

Parents that do this have no understanding of what the Bible is all about. We must be careful not to condemn the person only the practice. People who live this lifestyle can be forgiven and their lives can be transformed. The church should be a haven of forgiveness and healing for repentant homosexuals without compromising its stance against homosexual behavior. Anything is possible through Christ.

Interesting. But horrid. Get rid of your child because of the way he thinks...communism anyone?

It doesn't mention the parents, but I think they would be unfit to raise a child.

It says Matthew 7:1 "Judge not that ye be judged."
