Why would the people or New Orleans reelect Mayor Nagin?

Why would they blame the Federal Government for their blunders? It takes time to get FEMA into a city as ravaged as New Orleans was. It isn't as simple as driving on a highway, as the highways were flooded, covered, or missing.

They like handouts and Nagin is going to give it to them as he makes New Orleans a "chocolate city."

More proof it is socially acceptable for black people to be prejudice or at least make prejudiced and racist statements. I am VERY GLAD he left the Republican party when he first ran for mayor.

Hes an incompetant fool the two way it is going....for the reason that New Orleans is a "Chocolate city" as he places it, close up and get some literacy classes and different stuff began so as that they might get off of welfare..i became a case supervisor while Katrina occurred and that i met 37 12 months previous women people who couldnt study and 25 12 months previous women people who had 8 little ones...I cant have self belief this guy have been given re-elected.

Absentee voters elected Nagin, not us. People who left and will probably never return elected our mayor(well, New Orleans, Im one town to the left so Nagin ISN'T my mayor, thank god)

Black voters in New Orleans have only themselves to blame for re-electing Ray Nagin; they voted for him because he's BLACK.

Obama is counting on black voters blindly voting for him because he is Black, just like Ray Nagin did.

Wise black voters might want to think hard about that when time comes to vote in a new President.

EVERYone failed miserable in New Orleans. A mayor can do only so much.

I suppose they re-elected him because they like him. He must be doing something right.

For the same reason people in Washington DC reelected Marion Barry.

Why would they reelect Kennedy time and time again after the death of that poor, unfortunate woman?

Why would they reelect Bush, who has just about ruined our economy and made the US hated by so many in the world?

Why would anyone vote for a Bush in the first place? Bush I campaigned with his infamous,"read my lips, no new taxes," and then he raised them anyway after he was elected. Bush I left Saddam Hussein in power in Iraq after we wn the first Gulf War----which has cost us about one trillion dollars, we can't afford another Bush (which is what McCain is) they are simply too inept and too expensive.

Voters seem to be rather stupid about who they select, and it's apparent to anyone that the current administration and party has just about destroyed the American economy.

All politicians are liars, and most are thieves.
