Going to Montreal with my best friend this winter...?

This winter my best friend and I are going to Montreal for a few weeks to experience the festival there. To anybody who has been to Montreal during this time, or anybody who lives there, any advice on places to go and things to see, (especially night life...we'll both be 19 by then..)

Update:

PS. We both know french pretty well, so that won't be any sort of deterrent.

You guys should walk up Saint Catherine Street where they have the Jazz Fest during the summer.

During the winter I believe it's also a festive street with shops, art galleries, french stuff. Get around town by the Montreal mass transit system and enjoy the cuisine and architecture, and the politics.

I love Montreal, ask around for things to see, the people are friendly there.

iciness tires are required *via regulation* from Dec 15-March 15. you will get a dispensation from the SAAQ in the experience that your automobile is from out of city. yet once you're in an accident when you consider which you ought to not administration your automobile because of the lack of ability of iciness tires...your insurance enterprise might have a great cheque to jot down out. As for thinking if the roads are that undesirable in mid-March, nicely, they could be. we've had enormous snowstorms in March and the occasional one in early April.
