Question about Out of Body Experiences.?
I have been looking everywhere for the answer to this question but I can't seem to find it! Okay, if you are having an out of body experience and you leave your body, while you have left your body, what is it doing? Is your body unconscious? Our just staring into nowhere? Or what?
Thank you for your help.
Please don't leave any mean answers.
And I am sorry if you find this a little confusing but I tried to explain it my best.
:-)

Your physical body is in a meditative state, but not totally unconscious. It's like a deep sleep. A loud noise or someone touching you will jerk you back to you physical self.
Hope this helps.

It is unclear whether out of body experiences are real or not. Some people point to various tests, such as with fighter pilots, as evidence that they are not real, but such tests only provide some similarities to the reported experiences while also including some differences. The differences are what makes the explanation suspect. In some studies though, people who claimed an Out Of Body experience have been able to come up with verifiable knowledge that was reportedly gained during the experience. Overall though the problem is that we simply do not know enough about many aspects of how the mind functions to know what is real and what is not real in regards to these reported events.

I've never had a out-of-body experience but I have had some weird phenomenom happend. I was sleep one time back in May 2007 and as I lseep a wierd voice I heard in my sleep say "Keep Reading Those Books, You'll Attain More Insight'. It was the most wierdest thing I woke up shaking because I was scared. It was very strange. Before that back in January 7,2007 or the 11 I seen UFO's zigzagging across the sky.

An "out of body" experience implies that the conscious mind - metaphysical self, spirit, soul, however you choose to define it - is separated from the physical body. As the phrase itself suggests that the body and mind are two separate entities, it stands to reason that your body doesn't possess its own consciousness separate to that which is displaced.
So technically, your body is no more or less conscious than it is when your mind is in its normal state, trapped, as it were, within the body. That is to say that your mind is the only conscious part of you at any time and if you choose to define it as an entity separate to your body, then in an out of body experience your body is aware of nothing.
Of course, this is only a trick of the mind. Your consciousness created the feeling of displacement. There is no physical separation, only the perception of it. During this time your body continues to function more or less normally, carrying on the unconscious processes that keep you alive without your awareness of them.

Your body is completely unconscious because its mind is not controlling the body. You control your body with your mind. Realize that you are not your body, but your soul. While you have an Out of Body Experience, your soul and/or mind is not controlling your body, so it does nothing basically; like a Barbe doll for an example.

Your body is at rest while you step out, so to speak. Should anything disturb your body, you return to it immediately. Sometimes it feels like you're falling when you come back in too quickly. Also, you can experience sleep paralysis when re-entering your body. Your body hasn't had time to wake up though you are awake. In a few seconds you can start to move again.

The Silver Cord that connects you (a Spirit) to your Body, will keep your Body Alive while YOU (a Spirit) are out of it.
The Body has no Life of it's own.
YOU are the Life of your Body.
The Body just does Housework (bodily functions, heart-beat, so on) while you are Out of It.
There is no Life (Conciousness) in the Human Body.
It is Technically a "Bag of Meat and Bones".
It is Your EarthSuit.
The Human Body gives YOU the Authority to do things on the Earth.
Once out of your Body for Good (what we call "Death"), YOU Should be "Born-Again" (Spirit ReCreated by Accepting Jesus as your Saviour).
If you come out of your Body "for Good" and you have NOT been Born-Again---you cannot go to Heaven.
It is not that Jesus Dosen't Love you, it is Spiritual Law.
You Must Be Born-Again BEFOR you Leave the Earth for Good.
or, you cannot Enter Into Heaven.
Period.
Hope this Helps.
p.s. Romans 10:9 (in the Bible) will get your Spirit ReCreated so that you can Enter Into Heaven when all of this Stuff on the Earth is Over With. :)

Robert Bruce dedicates several chapters to this in his book, "Astral Dynamics". His theory (which explains dozens of my more bilocatory experiences extremely well) is that each body has its own independent stream of consciousness - and what you recall after the event is essentially a merging of two separate memories. Here's his initial analysis:

Chapter 22 goes into more detail, just follow the link at the end.

It's debatable whether you actually leave your physical body, or are just having a very lucid dream, but while you are projecting your body just continues to sleep as per usual. If it senses danger you will wake up just like normal. Unless you sleep with open eyes (like my cousin) you eyes will remain closed.

Read "Out of Body Adventures" by Rick Stack.
It's metaphysical.
I have had a friend have an OOBE as she was having an anurism. She's okay now, but it was very interesting.
