Gail is very dated, and I think Abigail adds a feminine and modern touch to the name.

Abigail may be popular but it sounds a lot better than Gail. Plus, Abby is an adorable nickname.

I hate Gail it sounds like a lady in her forties or fifties. Abigail is okay but I think Abby is a much prettier name for a girl.

I don't like the name Gail at all, sorry! It is too old fashioned and out of date aka BORING! I would just use Abigail and call her Abby, it is too cute! : )

it is a a bit dated, plus it rhymes with a many different words- snail, pail, whale, mail, which is something to think about (the kids on the playground surely will).
