Received a check from SS and dont know why...?

Applied for Short Term Disability and won my appeal. Am waiting for how much I will receive for the time I was disabled. However, today I received a check and it has notation of "Soc Sec For Ins" on it and nothing else. Anyone know what this is for??

This check was issued by SSA? If so, call them and ask. I didn't know they paid short term disability. I thought it had to be either permanent or expected to last more than a year.

You need to call the social security people and ask them. If you have an attorney you may want to give him or her a call. It may just be the first installment for your disability.
