Texas law on statutory rape?

My son is 17 will be 18 in May. His girlfriend is 15 and will turn 16 in a week. His girlfriends parents are forbidding her to see my son, she refused and ran away. Parents called cops and reported her. I had no idea what was going on until the cops came to my door looking for them. I explained to the cop that my son was not home but would do my best to get the girl home when and if I see her. Cop made it clear that if they find the girl with my son he would be charged with harboring a runaway and be put in jail. Son calls and I tell him and her that the cops were looking for them and the consequences towards him if she doesnt go home. He said he would take her home. So, it turns out that she might be pregnant. what will happen to my son if she does go back home and finds out that she is pregnant and her parents decide to press charges for statutory rape?

Find a good Layer right now.I think the laws in Texas are still tough. I hope that things work out, I was dating a 23 year old girl when I was 16 years old and some people had a problem with it but both my Parents were cool with it I can't think of what else to say but I will Pray for your you your son you and his girl friend that things will be all right.

There are romeo and juliet laws regarding these types of cases. Generally speaking there is a 3 year age gap between the two parties which prevent a prosecutor from charging and trying your son.

edit; I do not know of the website but google texas penal code and it'll have a referrence page where you can find all the information.

often this form of ingredient isn't formally component to the regulation, that is as much as the police and prosecutor to return to a determination if the case is well worth investigating. i've got on no account heard of somebody being convicted to statutory rape entirely on the interest of the 0.33 party although, so i'm vulnerable to think of they could come to a determination it is not well worth their time.
