Blue Screen of Death Question...?
I've had my laptop for a little over 4 months and I got the blue screen of death for the first time. It seems to work fine now, but I'm curious as to what triggered it to see if I can keep it from happening again. I was watching "Slacker Uprising", Michael Moore's film, and the computer froze twice, both times I had to shut it down. The third time, I tried to stream it from Amazon and that was when I got the Blue Screen of Death. I've streamed video TONS of times before without this problem, and I'm not even sure if the two things are related or just a really weird coincidence. Any expert knowledge? I'm lost.

I would contact your computer manufacturer's tech support. They usually offer this free of charge especially if you have only had it for 4 months.Dell and HP chat technical support is available 24/7. Just go to your computer's manufacturer's website and find thier contact info. They solved my Blue screen of death issue. They have a program where they use your computer and fix your problem without you having to take it to them.Or they simply tell you what to do.They should help you.Good Luck

2. a memory snapshot would have been taken and stored on your C: drive and that can be analyzed with a free debugging tool from Microsoft
3. the system event log often has useful error messages
4. in any case you should update your video driver for sure
5. it is probably useful to update your video codecs. The easiest way to do that is to download and install the free K-Lite Mega Codec Pack from:

You might want to update the drivers on your sound and audio devices, sounds like one or more is either out of date or may be corrupting themselves, which happens.
