How do I put audio on my video?

Okay, so I'm making a video on windows movie maker and I want to put audio on it. I have the song on my iTunes and also on a cd. No matter where I import the song from, it doesn't go through because it is "an unsupported format" or something like that. How can I make it supported so I can put the song on my video?
