Is there any flowers that are black? I mean real flowers and not artificial.?

I was checking things out in a store on the Halloween stuff and found an artificial black rose. I'm curious if there's any flowers that are black on planet earth.

I planted some black peonies and black hollyhocks this year. They were beautiful! Like the previous answerer stated, there are not any "true black" flowers, but these come very close, especially the hollyhocks. The peonies were more of a deep purple in the centers, with a very deep, nearly black color at the outside edges.

Below are the links to the seed companies from which I purchased the seeds. I was pleased with the customer service provided by both. Heirloom Acres is a little cheaper, but their seeds took a little longer to arrive than Baker's (Rare Seeds). I also ordered other flower, vegetable and herb seeds from both companies and all of the seeds preformed well.

I just has to say... Those flowers look nice... - But they ARE NOT BLACK. - There is a reason that nature on this planet NEVER make black flowers. The sun would kill them after short time... - It is that simple. -

I don't think anything is going to be true-black, but the "Black Prince Pansy" (or "black beauty pansy" as it's sometimes called) is pretty much the best black flower you can find. I used to have some in my front yard, they went beautifully with other bold colors, but were an accident.
